General Overview

Peter Murphy specializes in commercial litigation and the representation of secured creditors, lessors, asset purchasers, and debtors in complex litigation, workouts, restructurings, and bankruptcy proceedings. He has represented companies and individuals in State and Federal Courts, and administrative and local government proceedings. In addition, he has been appointed as a Special Master in State District Court proceedings.

Representative Transactions/Representative Cases

  • Sterling Airways v. Precision Standard – successfully represented trustee in foreign bankruptcy proceeding for the recovery of damages in State Court litigation involving international supply contracts.

  • Arizona Shower Doors v. Rice – achieved judgment for breach of contract claimant in District Court through trial, and then obtained a judgment for non-discharge of judgment debt through trial of Adversary Proceeding in Federal Bankruptcy Court.

  • The Sports Corporation v. Evans – obtained dismissal of claims in trial court, successfully defended appeal, and obtained judgment for award of attorneys’ fees on remand.

  • Successfully represented lenders in the negotiation and resolution of multi-million dollar construction development projects including the commencement and management of receiverships, foreclosures, and related litigation.
